E-commerce dropshipping site: What is the biggest challenge for the dropshipper?

Are you thinking of getting into online commerce and particularly in E-commerce of the Dropshipping type, or have you already created your E-commerce Dropshipping site?
Well you need to know this to hope to grow your business.

What is Dropshippeur’s biggest challenge?

Make yourself known, make your site known, generate, increase and maintain constant and qualitative traffic on your site.
Many people have gone into Dropshipping thinking that they just have to create their website (either by themselves or by paying professionals to do it) and importing items on it to start making sales and earning significant income.
Unfortunately, in reality the story is not that rosy!

And here’s why!

Once the website is created and the articles imported on the site, you face a big obstacle which is that of visibility.
Since your site is very young, no one knows it and therefore no one visits it.
Who says zero visibility, says zero traffic, who says zero traffic, says zero sales, who says zero sales, says zero revenue.

Besides, you do not spend several weeks, see several months for some, to invest your money to pay for the hosting of your site, to pay the extensions necessary for the functioning of your site, to pay professionals to create your site, to invest your time for find reliable suppliers and import articles to your site so that in the end you are the only person to know and visit your website!
So you understand that visibility is the sinequanone condition for the survival and growth of your website and it is very important that you be aware of this before you start E-commerce Dropshipping.

You are probably wondering what strategies to put in place to generate traffic to your website.
Well there are several, which can be grouped into two categories: Paid strategies and Free strategies:

1- Paid strategies

They consist in paying to publicize your site and the products that are there:

-social networks: once you have created accounts on social networks such as Facebook, Instagram etc … you pay these platforms to promote your publications and ensure that your publications are seen by a certain number of people depending on your budget.

-Influencers: to make your activity known to a large audience and reach a certain target audience, you can contact influencers and offer them money and / or offer them some of your articles so that in return they can present and talk about your activity to their community and get them interested in your site and your products. The price to pay will depend on the notoriety of the chosen influencer, the higher their community, the greater the budget to pay will be.

The advantage of paid strategies is that they generate significant and immediate traffic to your website and allow your store to be recognized quickly by a large number of people.
The downside of these strategies is that the traffic generated is not necessarily qualitative which means that there will certainly be a lot of clicks to your website at the same time but the sales will not necessarily follow and the majority of these people will not probably come back to your site (unless there is something really unique about your site!).
The other downside to these strategies is that they can sometimes cost a lot of money, especially if you use the services of well-known influencers. And the sales income made as a result of these paid ads can often be less than the amount spent on the ads in question, or even downright zero for the unlucky ones.

In addition, the public is more and more familiar with this kind of method and they are starting to give less and less credibility to sponsored articles. That said, it’s still a way to quickly publicize a new website.

2- Free strategies

There are several free strategies to drive traffic to your website.

-social networks: you will need to be fairly present on your social media accounts and develop strategies to attract the attention of the general public to your pages and make them take an interest in what you are offering. It will certainly take you a long time to get a large number of subscribers, but it is very important for you to be present on these networks since the majority of the population spend several hours a day there.

-blogging: This is arguably the best free way to drive traffic to your website, but it’s also the slowest and most tedious.
In the beginning you will have to publish articles on the blog portion of your website almost every day for one to two years before your site is able to rank naturally at the top of the search engine results.
At this point you will be able to reduce the frequency of posting articles on your blog but, you certainly should not stop because blogging is still the best way to ensure constant and continuous traffic to your site and it is completely free.

This is undoubtedly a lot of investment in terms of time and energy, which is why you have to be prepared and aware of all the sacrifices you will have to make in order to see your online store prosper in the long term.

That said, if you don’t have the time to devote to writing blog posts or feel that you don’t have the skills to do so, you can outsource this task to a professional writer (s) so they do the work for you; you will of course have to pay them for their services.
You will understand, the success of a Dropshipping e-commerce site is conditioned by its visibility. And this requires the implementation of several SEO strategies to the site.
